Becky, with Royal Wren Events, asked me to be a part of this magnificent, dark and moody gothic styled wedding. It was a dark and spooky event, but drenched with class. Becky styled the venue with lots of candles, deep purple and reds with gold accents, and skulls. A perfect event for an October day; simply, a perfectly styled October wedding. Becky outdid herself! Becky’s designs are timeless, no matter the style or event! I was blown away. The styled wedding was perfectly planned and executed by Becky and fellow photographer Denise Alexandra. They hosted an event to die for!
I had the honor of meeting Becky Serna while photographing her cousin’s sweet 16 party. And let me tell ya! She is an absolute gem! This girl is one of my greatest supporters and cheerleaders. She is kind and sassy and has a servants’ heart, and has become such a good friend to me! I absolutely love her!
I made some wonderful new friends!
The other vendors involved in the shoot were all amazing as well! I could list all of the ways the vendors seriously showed up, but the photos will tell you of their excellence. Everyone knocked it out of the park, from the tiniest detail it all came together as a showstopper. All of the vendors were asked to take a photo with the cute sunglasses for an added touch of fun. They were not all thrilled, but I hope they can look at their photo and smile at the good time! You can see the reel on my instagram page.
My usual editing style is light and airy, so to be asked to photograph a dark, moody, gothic style wedding was beyond me! I was not sure if any shots I was getting were going to live up to the other photographers or the style of the event, and I certainly didn’t know how to edit them, I was just winging it! Butttt, I absolutely love how my photos turned out, I’m so proud of myself! Forsaking my light and airy style for the day was fire, and I’d do it again! Head over to my website to see my usual style!
What You’ve Been Waiting For
Finally, enjoy all parts of this moody gothic styled wedding from the stationary details to the “til death” marquee, the black cake, and the skull shot glasses. The event was classy, dark, and so much fun! Thank you for having me!!
